Entering the GlenormistonCollege through the main gates, one is immediately immersed in its old-world elegance and original charm. The main entrance is lined with ancient elm trees and dry-stone walls border the driveway leading to the heritage listed mansion.
The Glenormiston College grounds and facilities offer endless opportunities.
The sriking two-storey bluestone and white stuccoed mansion (circa 1855) stands in a park of magnificent native and exotic plants, featuring trees such as an original gum, a Prussian fir, date palms and an old, giant bunya pine.
When stepping into the mansion one is transported back in time. The homestead features an elaborate interior with ornate details, high ceilings, chandeliers and a maze of rooms. It also features original carvings by Robert Prenzel (1866-1941), one of the most highly skilled professional carvers to have worked in Australia, and includes a handcrafted blackwood staircase.
The banquet hall is the ideal location for a larger wedding reception, a fundraiser dinner or a small trade exhibition.
The hall seats up to 500 people. For smaller affairs the hall can be partitioned off into two smaller rooms. There is ample room in this multipurpose hall for a dance floor or catwalk and there's a stage that can be used for speeches and entertainment.
